About the linkedin post formatter

LinkedIn doesn't support native bold or italic in its post composer, but it does render Unicode mathematical characters as if they were styled text. Tools like this one convert your text into those Unicode equivalents - so when you paste the result into LinkedIn, it shows up bold or italic everywhere.

This formatter works entirely in your browser. There's no upload step, no AI inference, no character limit. Paste plain text, highlight what you want to style, and copy the result. Your text never leaves your machine.

Why formatting matters on LinkedIn

LinkedIn rewards posts that get readers to stop and engage. A bold opening line, an italicized framing question, or a monospace product name pulls eyes down the post and increases dwell time - which the algorithm reads as a signal to show your post to more people. The effect is real and measurable, especially in the first three lines (which control whether 'See more' gets clicked).

When NOT to use Unicode formatting

Unicode-styled text doesn't read aloud cleanly in screen readers (it pronounces letters as 'mathematical italic lowercase a' etc.). If your audience meaningfully includes screen-reader users, use formatting sparingly - bold a keyword, not an entire paragraph. Don't replace headings or body text with styled Unicode in long-form posts intended for accessibility.

FAQ

Is this formatter free?

Yes - completely free, no signup. The formatter runs in your browser; nothing is uploaded or stored.

Will the bold/italic text render correctly on LinkedIn mobile?

Yes. The formatter uses Unicode mathematical characters that render identically on LinkedIn web, iOS, Android and the mobile site.

Does it work outside LinkedIn?

Yes - anywhere that supports Unicode (X, Threads, Bluesky, Notion, Slack, etc.). It also works in email subject lines and most messaging apps.

Is Unicode bold accessible to screen readers?

Not perfectly. Screen readers pronounce styled Unicode characters individually ('mathematical italic capital H'). Use bold for emphasis on a keyword or two - don't replace entire sentences with styled text in posts targeted at accessibility-first audiences.

Can Croni write the post for me too?

Yes. This formatter is a free standalone tool, but our main product (Croni Publish) writes the post in your voice and auto-publishes it to LinkedIn natively. Free to try.
